چکیده
Introduction: One of the most relevant disabilities is caused by spinal cord injury (SCI). Typical causes damage are trauma, disease, or congenital disorders. Tetraplegia a paralysis results in partial total loss use all limbs and torso; paraplegia similar but does not affect arms. Pain spasticity common sequelae SCI [1]. Both pain can have late onset develop slowly over time after SCI, once developed, they often become chronic. In this paper we provided to assess effectiveness acupuncture for treating summarize potential mechanisms therapy. Method: We considered 30 patients with diagnosis tetra complicated neuropathic spasticity. Neurologist trained medical conducted therapeutic treatments. A specific set points was used sessions. Participants were treated 8 sessions 4 week’s period. evaluated Numeric Raiting Scale (VAS) (2) Modified Ashworth [3] at beginning first, fourth an eighth treatment session. Results: 28 (93%) showed improvement intensity two weeks treatment. The effect continued until week However, 15 (53,5%) reported increase 2 months Conclusions: Acupuncture using defined acupoint reduced intentensity SCI.

Mechanisms of chronic central neuropathic pain after spinal cord injury.
Not all spinal contusions result in mechanical allodynia, in which non-noxious stimuli become noxious. The studies presented use the NYU impactor at 12.5 mm drop or the Infinite Horizons Impactor (150 kdyn, 1 s dwell) devices to model spinal cord injury (SCI). Both of these devices and injury parameters, if done correctly, will result in animals with above level (forelimb), at level (trunk) and...

BACKGROUND Several studies have described pain prevalence, risk factors, pain and medical variables in spinal cord injury (SCI) populations. In this study on traumatic SCI in Turkey, we surveyed the neuropathic pain experiences during in-patient rehabilitation and defined the relationships between neuropathic pain and demographic and SCI characteristics of patients. OBJECTIVES To survey the n...

OBJECTIVE The study sought to explore the possibility of using acupuncture and massage therapy for relieving neuropathic pain following spinal cord injury (SCI). DESIGN 30 individuals with SCI and neuropathic pain were assigned to treatment of either massage or acupuncture, with 15 individuals in each group. Both groups received treatment twice weekly for 6 weeks. Treatments were evaluated at...
